Bigger than it appeared in pictures, it offered a cozy retreat after exploring the beautiful surrounding towns like Nice and Monaco. The hosts, Diana and her husband, easily made us feel at home with their warmth and helpfulness. The space was tidy and well-equipped – the air conditioner was a lifesaver during those hot days, and having a washing machine was a lovely bonus. We spent four nights here, using it as our base with the added charm of a garden area that invited a bit of tranquility. One of my favourite aspects was the outdoor terrace; it was perfect for evening barbecues and leisurely meals under the stars. The summer garden was a peaceful spot to unwind after a day out, definitely a gardener's delight. While my heart remains with wildlife conservation, a serene getaway like La Chênaie is ideal for anyone looking to recharge. I would certainly enjoy a return visit if I’m back in this picturesque corner of the world.
